Nice City

Nice benefits from an exceptional micro-climate which contributes to the city's fame for nearly over 200 years now.

Open towards the sea, the city is protected from the winds by its hills – in the west – by the massif of Estérel and – in the north-west – by the barrier of the Mercantour-Alpes. Due to the breeze from the sea the climate is never too hot in the summer and always mild during the winter months.

It is not unusual to have lunch on the terrace, dressed in a simple tee-shirt, in the middle of February whilst the rest of France is still enduring the cold winter temperatures.

about the city

Situated in Southern Europe at the far south-east of France, Nice is an ideal departure point to visit the Riviera: Ventimiglia, San Remo with its markets, Monaco only 20km away, Menton only 30km away, Cannes only 30km away and 90 mn of Saint Tropez.

Just a short distance away from our hotel:
The market "Liberation"

Every day (except Monday) from 7.30 am to 1 pm

To get to know the Nice of the "Niçois", you have to head towards Avenue Malausséna and the "Place Général de Gaulle" where one of the largest markets of the city takes place. Large crowds gather around the displays of fruits and vegetables put up by gardeners from the hills and freshly caught fish from the Mediterranean, glitter on their bed of ice. In this beautiful and local place a "niçoise" atmosphere is guaranteed.
